I went to see The Brutalist this week, Brady Corbet’s extraordinary film about exile, vision, the postwar world, and the legacy of trauma in the 20th century. At the BFI’s IMAX screen the experience was overwhelming in the best way — and I would have sat through it again immediately. I can’t recall the last time I felt that way about a film.
